From April 2021, using a breakthrough manufacturing process, Formica’s next generation surfaces will be armed with antimicrobial properties to constantly inhibit the growth of bacteria and moulds. Tested in accordance with JIS Z2801 and ASTM G21, this state-of-the-art antimicrobial surfacing material shows a reduction in microbe count on a surface by up to 99 percent. This translates to improved hygiene and reduces opportunities for bacteria and microorganisms to grow in your living spaces. 

Designed to work in conjunction with regular cleaning and disinfecting practices, it also helps preserve the surfaces from damage, odour and degradation caused by micro-organisms. Surfaces made using this innovative manufacturing process are labelled PROTEC+^®, reflecting their high performance on resistance to scratches and wear.
